Wine; Ruby/Garnet colours. Ripe cherry, strawberry, rhubarb, chinotto, dried herbs, thyme and rosemary flowers. Nice lick of French and fresh leather. Palate very poised, more, strawberry, cranberry, cola/chinotto, dried herbs. Mid palate freshness, excellent balance. Fine tannins and fresh acid line that cleans the wine up perfectly. Excellent length of flavour indicative of the vintage and low tonnages per acre.
Production; 160 Dozen.
Halliday Review; From a single vineyard in Steels Creek. Brian Conway made three lovely single-vineyard pinots in '23, and this is the pick of them. Aromas of perfectly ripened red cherries, rosebush, fresh earth and gentle spices. Just as complex on the palate, which is flavoursome, balanced, beautifully structured and long. It's good now, but I'd love to see this five to seven years from now too. Either way, you can't lose.
